Owl House, despite its feeling of seclusion, is only 4 miles from the centre or the historic city of georgian Bath. It is situated in beautiful walking country with some of the quaintest old villages in Wiltshire and Somerset within a short drive. Lacock and Castle Combe have both provided the settings for many Jane Austen and other historical films. For those golf addicts who can't bear to be parted from their clubs, Owl House is right next door to an 18 hole golf course. Click here for Places to Visit and Virtual Tour of Bath to see what your holiday or vacation has in store for you. Anyone
wanting restful surroundings with ease of parking, country pubs, entertainment
and sightseeing within easy reach will love staying at Owl House.
You can see Stone Henge, Avebury, the Roman Baths, Castle Combe and Laycock
all in a single day (if you hurry)and be back in time for a delicious
supper in the local pub |

The warm welcome you receive will make you feel completely at home, and when you see the view from your room you just can't help commenting on how lovely it is. In winter the bare trees allow panoramic views of the countryside right across to Bath, and in summer the lushness of the foliage and the colourful plants compensate for losing a little of the view. During spring and summer the gardens are full of flowers and on a fine day you can relax beside the large pond watching the fish winding themselves gracefully between the plants. Or you can take your breakfast on the peaceful terrace, listening to the bird song, enjoying the views and feeling at one with the world. A perfect place for a relaxing break, an anniversary, a honeymoon, or romantic weekend. |
| The house itself is constructed in warm golden-brown Cotswold stone and built in the traditional English style and the accommodation reflects a love of beauty and comfort. Anne Venus, the owner of Owl House, has lived in South East Asia for almost 20 years and through her eclectic collection of furniture, paintings and ornaments has skillfully combined the Asian ambiance with old English, resulting in a lovely comfortable combination of East meets West. As they say in Asia, the Yin and Yang are in balance. Our high standards, good food, and peaceful surroundings combine to give you complete rest and relaxation. |

At
Breakfast you can enjoy beautiful views seated in our glass breakfast
room. A unique experience and a wonderful start to the day.
The size of the breakfast assumes you have a large appetite, the menu consisting of cereals, locally made bread, yogurt, fruit, fruity jams and marmalade, local farm eggs, and full English cooked breakfast. For other meals , there are many reasonably priced country pubs within easy reach, each offering an excellent menu. The comments in the bed and breakfast visitors book reflect the welcome, the comfort, the excellent breakfast and the fabulous views. Anne says one of her favourite comments was made by a german family who came for a day and stayed a week - their comment was "We love it so much because you treat us as if we were your best friends". Anne is continually surprised at how many guests sent thank-you notes and cards with pictures of Owls after they've left. See the amazing view from our dining room below. |

And why the name
Owl House? If you stand outside on a quiet evening you could hear the
Barn Owls, the Tawny Owls and the Little Owls. But the house could just
as easily been named after any number of the local wildlife: the Badger,
the Fox, the Woodpecker, the little Robin or the Hedgehog. If
